Όπως κάθε χρόνο, έτσι και φέτος ανακοινώθηκαν τα GSM Awards στην MWC 2012, με τη Samsung να παίρνει τη σκυτάλη από την HTC ως κορυφαίος κατασκευαστής της χρονιάς, ενώ το Samsung Galaxy S IIαναδείχτηκε το κορυφαίο smartphone της χρονιάς, αφήνοντας πίσω του τα iPhone 4S, HTC Desire S, Nokia Lumia 800 και Samsung Galaxy Nexus! Στα tablets, νικητής ήταν το iPad 2.
